Hi Honkinberry, I just came across this and wanted to say, I downloaded the 2.2.2 (beta), flashed it to a Samsung EVO Select 32 GB SD card with Balena Etcher 1.5.41 on PC. It boots on the Tinker Board, and Tinker Board S.
I would check that the file wasn't corrupted during download:
