Gene Mosher 0 Posted December 1, 2021 I am very happy with my Tinkerboard 2. I look forward to the availability of Linaro Debian Bullseye in the not-too-distant future. My favorite feature of the Tinkerboard 2 is the USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port which offers OTG functionality and DisplayPort Alt Mode. The cable cleanup from consolidating HDMI, power and touchscreen input into a single, thin cable is very much appreciated. In the past I had posted my hope to see the same port on a Raspberry Pi but the forum moderators there were scathing in their rebuke of my comments, accusing me of subverting their forum for my personal benefit !! https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?p=1850823#p1850823 The Asus Tinkerboard 2 is a rather remarkable alternative to the Raspberry Pi in another very important regard; Tinkerboard relies on Linaro https://developer.arm.com/tools-and-software/open-source-software/linaro and uses Linaro's emphasis on a more comprehensive and wide-ranging approach to Linux on ARM to Tinkerboard's advantage. To put it another way, the Tinkerboard and Linaro represent a truly open approach to the future of computing, and a very welcomed embrace of the most advanced developments in hardware design. I am grateful to Asus-Tinkerboard for its efforts and its offerings.
