About Me

  1. First off, I have to say that I love this little device. I will be upgrading to the TBS2 soon enough, once the RAM is increased. For now though, my current issue is that while I'm able to install Libre Office without issue, VLC is not possible. I get the message of: Could not apply changes. Fix broken packages first. Now through my research into this I see that when I update and upgrade the OS (latest version I do believe from the TB website) I see the GStreamer is going to be held back. Even attempting to install Gparted fails. So my attempts to update give the following results of importance: gstreamer1.0-x/oldoldstable 1.10.4-1+deb9u2 armhf [upgradable from: 1.10.4-1] (colour and bold font used to emphasize the errors in my thread) You will have to pardon my squirrely (reference to Foamy) ignorance but while I can understand in basic terms what this means I know this is the source of my issue. Regardless, I'm going to update and upgrade my system. It was a fresh install two nights ago and I've left it alone until I have a day off from work to actually delve into this headache. So now my attempt to upgrade provides the following message (again): E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable) E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it? I have tried to force it through (I forget the steps and I can easily find it with a search online again). How the hell do I get this bane of my current existence out of my life so it never returns, until perhaps the next time? Any help is greatly appreciated. Rhircyn
